Golfclub

At the beginning of the 1970s, golf still played a subordinate role in Germany. At that time, there were around 110 golf courses with approximately 23,000 golfers throughout the Republic, five of which were in Schleswig-Holstein.

The initiator for the development of the golf club in Timmendorfer Strand was Karl-Heinz Tillipaul. In order to realise his ambitious golf course project, Karl-Heinz Tillipaul was still looking for investors who would support the project. The planning and realisation of the two 18-hole courses was carried out by the golf architects Dr. Bernhard von Limburger and the course builder Kurt Peters.

The Golfclub Timmendorfer Strand e.V. was entered in the register of associations on 7 November 1973 under No. 133. In accordance with the association's statutes, a board committee consisting of Messrs Tillipaul, Lehmensiek-Starke, Lüttgen, Gilgen-Quandt and Siebeneck was appointed.

The official opening of the golf course with 200 players from 33 clubs took place with 3 days of opening matches in July 1974.
